Course Overview:
This workshop aims to create space for EFT and other attachment-based experiential therapists to fine-tune themselves as therapeutic instruments in their clinical work. We will use the EFT treatment map and in-session process (Tango) as the framework for the training. During this workshop, we will guide therapists through exercises and role plays to help them notice their own affective experiences and develop plans to utilize and use themselves in an attuned way in the therapeutic process.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be more aware of their affective responses in various clinical situations (anger, client challenge, feeling lost/confused, encountering blocks).
Participants will develop plans to regain focus when they get dysregulated or lose attunement in the session.
Participants will practice noticing and making sense of triggers and emotions occurring in them.
Participants will be able to identify therapeutic choice points to increase the effectiveness of their experiential work.
Who should attend?
This advanced workshop is appropriate for all licensed and pre-licensed mental health professionals including psychologists, professional counselors, clinical social workers and marriage and family therapists who work with individuals who have attended an EFT Externship.
